Kevin Harvick chalked up his second win of the 2010 Sprint Cup series, as he won NASCAR‘s final race at the Daytona International Speedway on Saturaday. Harvick finished ahead of Kasey Kahne and Jeff Gordon in the race, which was marred by a 20-car crash.
Harvick and his Richard Childress Racing teammates Clint Bowyer and Jeff Burton led in the early goings and looked headed to a sweep of the podium but a series of late cautions prevented what could have been a big celebration for the team.
Bowyer was just about to take the white flag when a three-car scramble forced him to face Harvick in NASCAR’s version of the overtime. As the two teammates lined up side-by-side for the final restart, Harvick slipped into the lead while Bowyer spun off track, allowing Kasey Kahne and Jeff Gordon to take second and third places, respectively. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Burton rounded out the top five while Bowyer eventually finished 17th.
