Ubaldo Jimenez continued his amazing pitching run, shutting out the San Francisco Giants en route to earning his 10th win of the season for the Colorado Rockies.
Jimenez, who had a no-hitter in April, gave up four hits but extended his scoreless innings streak to 26 in helping the Rockies score a 4-0 victory against the Giants.
He is the 15th pitcher to earn at least 10 wins by June 1 since 1952. He throwed 128 pitches in which 80 of them were strikes. He struck out nine batters in a superb performance against Tim Lincecum, the reigning National League CY Young winner. Lincecum became the 38th pitcher to make their first 100th starts with the Giants.
Jimenez made history on April 17 when he completed the first no-hitter by a Rockies pitcher. He struck out seven and walked six in another 128-pitch performance that, incidentally, also resulted in a 4-0 victory for the Rockies against the Atlanta Braves.
