Mike Miller Signs With Heat

Mike Miller had only one thing in mind when he agreed to join the Miami Heat on Thursday, to change his playoff misfortune and win an NBA championship ring in the process. Miller signed a five-year contract with the Heat for around $25 million, becoming the fifth player to take less money for a chance to play in what is considered the team to beat in the coming season.
Miller’s acquisition comes after the Heat secured the longtime services of LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, and Udonis Haslem. Miller, though, would be hoping that it is only his shooting touch that he would bring to Miami and not his dismal record in the playoffs. Miller, who has not made the playoffs since 2006, is 2-18 in postseason matches. He last tasted a playoff game victory in 2002, when the Orlando Magic beat the then-Charlotte Hornets in the second game of their first-round series. Miller is 0-14 since then.
The Heat will be Miller’s fifth team in ten years. He played for the Washington Wizards last year, shooting 48 percent from beyond the arc with a 10.9 points per-game average.
